An Ambitious Electronic Concept Album with Pristine Digital Fidelity
Following the massive success of their debut full-length record Doom Fortress, Voyag3r returned to the studio to push their sound into a larger, far more immersive universe. The resulting masterwork, Are You Synthetic?, instrumentally explores dense sci-fi themes of deep-space exploration, artificial intelligence, metaphysics, and intergalactic conflict.
To capture this sprawling concept, the band entered the legendary Tempermill Studio in Ferndale, Michigan. The entire album was run live through a vintage 1977 Harrison 3232 custom mixing console to a 24-track tape machine, seamlessly blending massive acoustic drums, tube-driven guitar textures, and an extensive array of classic hardware analog synthesizers. On compact disc, this warm, saturated analog production is preserved with spectacular clarity, delivering punchy low-end bass lines and crystalline synthesizer leads that pop with incredible dynamic range on any audio system.
