The long-lost 1984 martial arts action-thriller is resurrected, and Voyag3r supplies the driving, custom synth-rock and electronic cinematic audio backdrop! New York Ninja was originally shot on 35mm in 1984 but was abandoned, leaving the film completely unedited with no audio track. Decades later, Vinegar Syndrome meticulously restored and completed the film, turning to Voyag3r to compose an all-original, pulse-pounding score.
The entire New York Ninja score was written and performed by Voyag3r and Produced, Engineered, Mixed, and Mastered by Steve Greene at Battle Chamber Studio. Utilizing an arsenal of authentic vintage analog synthesizers, driving electric guitar, and heavy acoustic percussion, this release delivers a gritty, warm, and deeply immersive audio landscape that perfectly matches the neon-soaked energy of the film.
The soundtrack, performed by the group Voyag3r, is absolute perfection. Chock full of synth heavy themes, it is the kind of music you would expect to hear in a low budget movie from the 1980s. The music doesn't feel like a parody... it is a masterpiece. — 411mania.com
Voyag3r capture the sound and feel of an 1980s action movie. There is a fine line between those 1980s action and horror scores, and this Detroit three-piece walk it expertly... this score feels like it just walked out of a time machine from 1984. — Complex Distractions
